FtF have a responsibility to ensure that Safeguarding is at the forefront of our service. We have clearly written policies and procedures which have been reviewed and approved by Ofsted, and are in line with Nottinghamshire County Council’s LCSB procedures.
Using our Policy Management System, Safer Recruitment Practice and Care Quality System we can ensure that Safeguarding Practice within our organisation is always at the forefront in our service delivery.
All our employees are trained in Safeguarding and Safe Care Practice and they are all required to ensure that they engage in continuous development of these skills and practices across the organisation. The organisation has three qualified Designated Safeguarding Officers.
The Government has defined the term ‘safeguarding children’ as:
‘The Process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully’.
